Amazon Fires: Brazil To Reject G7 Offer Of $22m Aid

Brazil came under tremendous international criticism owing to its failure to control the massive fires which have engulfed the Amazon rainforest. Amidst the criticism and the overwhelming inferno, the government of Brazil took steps to bring the fires under control. A total of 44,000 soldiers have been mobilized to work as active firefighters in the areas most affected by the forest fires. Large Air Force transport aircrafts are also being used to spray thousands of liters of water. The crisis has raised strong global speculations and the French President has announced a $22 million aid from G7 countries to help tackle the massive forest inferno. Meanwhile, Brazil’s President , Bolsonaro has rejected the aid stating that it is part of G7 countries’ strategy of colonization.
